This month for
Bee Addicted 3,
Katrina sent out 2 solids and asked us to make a large quarter log cabin. I have never made a block this large and I have never used solids before. This was a fun challenge for me. I really like the fallish colors of this block and I can't wait to see it all finished.

I was recently commissioned by my grandma to recreate one of my great-grandmother's aprons. My grandma was using this one and it fit her perfectly so she wanted several made in other fabrics so that she would have some variety.

This first apron is the original apron. I love it! I can just imagine Grammie wearing it while preparing dinner for her family.

I hope that Grandma likes these aprons as much as I do. I had a lot of fun recreating a family heirloom!

These are my contribution to
Brioni's wonky stars for the month of October in the
Bee Addicted 3 quilt group. The background is not as pink as it looks in these pics. I really liked making these blocks and I will definitely have to make a quilt for myself with some wonky stars. I hope she likes them!

I have joined a
virtual quilting bee. Each month one of the members sends fabric and requests what type and size of block that they want. This month
Becca sent a variety of bright fabrics and asked for wonky houses. When I saw the fabrics I immediately thought of a farmhouse. I hope she likes them!

This is one of the baby quilts that I quilted while on vacation in Utah in June. This one is going to a friend who is having her first baby, a girl!

Here is a sample of what I will be doing in Utah. These are all my projects that need to be quilted on the big machine. I have 7 quilts and 4 tablerunners. I just need to get the batting and hopefully I will have time to quilt them all.

One more for the Spring to Finish challenge. I have had the top for this tablerunner done for about a year, but I just decided to quilt it and be done with it, so I can actually enjoy it this fall. I just quilted 1/4" on each side of the seams. It is not perfect, but I really like how it came out after it was washed and dried.
(Please ignore the dirty patio table in the pics)

Here is another
spring to finish project. I pieced and quilted it a couple of months ago, it just needed the binding to be finished. I love all the fabrics in this little whirlygiggle quilt, but wish I had used something with a little more contrast for the background. It looks a little washed out.

It is my first big attempt at machine quilting on my own machine, there are a lot of puckers, but it is only for me so I am not too upset. It was definitely a learning experience. It is a lot harder than using my mom's quilting machine.
I think I will just save up all my quilting projects and have a quilting day when I go to Utah. This is one of my
Spring to Finish projects.

Here is the banner mom requested for Lake Powell. There is another one exactly the same as this one. The triangles are made from 9 different hawaiian prints with another one for the binding/ties. I hope she likes it!

This is a winter tablerunner that I made for myself. It is a little wonky log cabin, I am not sure if I love it. Oh well, at least the top is done, now I just have to figure out what I want to put on the back. I don't have enough of any of the prints from the front so I am not sure what I am going to get.

This is my charity block for
project improv. I am excited to see what everyone else is doing. I haven't decided yet what I will do for my own project.

I am going to participate in this
project, it sounds like lots of fun and I am excited to try this new style of quilting.

Maggie commissioned me to make this book for Heath this year for Christmas. It is really simple, just chipboard covered with Basic Grey scrapbook papers. It has minimal embellishments because it was for a guy. There are way too many pages to take a picture of them all. It is definitely a sit on the table kind of book, there is no way it will close flat!

This is a tablerunner that I made for mom for Christmas. It is part of a "birthday" set. I also made a birthday banner. It was way too long to take just one picture of it.

A fall tablerunner for Kimber. I really like how the colors and patterns turned out on this one.

This is the flannel throw I made for Princess Taylor's birthday. I love how the giant ric-rack turned out. It is white flannel on the back.

My usual assistant was at school today and I needed to get these pictures up before I gave the aprons away. I apologize for the poor picture quality, but you can get the general idea.

This is my first project using mom's new quilting machine. I am quite excited that I can do it all myself. And of course here is Grace's halloween baby blankie :)

Keep an eye out for halloween aprons, coming soon!
